Nioh was one of the first big standout out games of 2017, with Team Ninja’s Action RPG offering fantastic gameplay in the style of Dark Souls. It originally began its life as a PlayStation 4-exclusive, but it has recently made the jump to PC in the form of Nioh: Complete Edition. Thus, the question now is this: is it going to come to Xbox One?
While this type of game might not seem like the kind of game that shows up on Xbox One due to its heavy Japanese style, it certainly isn’t outside of the realm of possibility. We need to remember that while Team Ninja said earlier this year that they didn’t have any plans to release Nioh on PC, that has recently been proven to be entirely false. This would seem to suggest that they’re certainly looking into bringing it to other platforms to extend its reach, and the Xbox One would be the obvious next step.
Next we have to also remember Team Ninja’s past and the platforms their games have typically released for, and we can see that they typically do release multiplatform games. All of their Ninja Gaiden games saw a release on both PlayStation and Xbox platforms, and that would be the best comparison to make seeing as the series falls into a similar genre with Nioh.
This is of course all speculation at this point, but it wouldn’t be too surprising to see this game come to Xbox One. 2018 seems like it would be the most likely year if it were set to happen, as if the Xbox One version were coming this year it likely would have happened along with the Complete Edition’s release. Either way, as soon as we have more concrete information on Nioh Xbox One we’ll be sure to bring it to you.
