Want to compete against others in Nintendo’s latest arcade fighter, Pokkén Tournament, in front of a massive crowd of cheering fans? Then that dream might come true! Nintendo have revealed on the official Pokémon site that they are going to Bring Pokkén Tournament to Evo this year as part of the Pokkén Tournament Championship Series. Yes, you read that right! Pokkén Tournament Championship Series.
For those who don’t know what Evo is it is one of the world’s biggest fighting game events which is hosted each year in Las Vegas. The event usually pulls in thousands of fighting games enthusiasts who duke it out during the main event, and now Pokkén Tournament joins the list of titles players will fight each other for prizes and glory in during this premier event. To join players must pay an entry fee plus bringing their own controllers to the event.
Beside this event Nintendo has stated that they are going to host several other Pokkén Tournament events as a part of the Pokkén Tournament Championship Series. These events will give top finishers prizes plus invitations and travel awards to the big finale Pokkén Tournament World Championship which will be held this August in San Francisco. The only other announced tournament in the Pokkén Tournament Championship Series is the one that is going to take place during the Pokémon US National Championship. But Nintendo has stated that more information will come soon. Exciting!
Pokkén Tournament is scheduled for worldwide release on Wii U March 18th, but has been available in Japanese arcade halls since July 16th 2015.
