If you haven’t heard by now, Pokémon Go is an augmented reality game developed for iOS and Android smartphone’s. This is one of the first Pokémon games developed for a platform other than Nintendo. Right now the mobile game has begun its worldwide launch but it is only popping up in specific regions. Australia and New Zealand users have confirmed successfully downloading the app on both iOS and Android app stores. You can see the listings on the Google Play Store and on the Itunes App Store.
Pokémon Go is developed by Niantic Labs, the mobile game will use your device’s camera, sensors, and location, this allows you to find different types of Pokémon in the real world. Once a Pokémon is close by, your phone will begin to vibrate, so get that Poké ball ready, hope for that capture and you will be one step closer to being a Pokémon Master. An external Bluetooth device called Pokémon Go Plus will also become available. This device will provide you with LED and vibration notifications. Pokémon Go will be a welcome gift for any Poké fan out there, the game will replicate everything we know and love about the Pokémon universe from catching, training, evolving, exploring, and even gym battles.
Hopefully, by the time of writing this, the game will become readily available in more regions across the globe. Pokémon Go will be free to play, but as you can imagine, it will include a handful of in app purchases. If you are not already pumped for this, maybe a trip back to the epic announcement trailer will get you excited, check it out below:
