Bravely Second: End Layer has been out in Japan since April of last year, though now we have an official release date for when the game will finally launch in North America. Nintendo has officially confirmed that End Layer will launch in the US on April 15, making its launch take place a little over 2 years after the original released. The game got rave reviews in Japan when it released last year, garnering a score of 36/40 from Famitsu that consisted of sub-scores of 9/9/9/9 from the four reviewers. Seeing as the game has not yet released anywhere else outside of Japan there are no other reviews available, though it will launch in Europe next month.
The launch of Bravely Second: End Layer will see the release of two different versions of the game, with one being the standard edition that will cost $39.99 and the other being the special edition that will cost $69.99. The contents and packaging for this special edition is top quality much the like the special edition for the first game was, as it includes a 250-page artbook and a 10-track soundtrack CD that is all encased in a very sweet-looking package. These special editions typically sell out pretty quickly, so if you’re planning on buying it then I would get your pre-order in soon from wherever you’re planning to purchase it from.
A playable demo for Bravely Second: End Layer was recently announced for Europe, though no news has been revealed regarding a release date for the demo in North America. The demo is set to release just a few weeks before the game launches in Europe next month, so it could very well end up being the case that the demo in North America will launch sometime towards the end of March. The demo is called The Ballad of the Three Cavaliers and will apparently last over 10 hours, with content from the demo carrying over to the main game. This demo will serve as a prequel of sorts to the main game as it features a story that is not included in Bravely Second, so it will definitely be something that is worth checking out for fans of the series.
