Today marks the release of Final Fantasy XV’s Episode Gladiolus DLC, which is the first part of 3 confirmed story DLCs that will be releasing for the game. Despite it being brand new, Square Enix is wasting no time in getting us ready for the second part as they have released a new trailer for it.
The next story DLC is called Episode Prompto, which puts the focus on the lighthearted and silly character from the main game. However, despite Prompto’s lighthearted nature, it looks like this DLC is set to be more on the emotional side of things. The trailer for it is brief and doesn’t show much, but we see Prompto walking up to a motionless body in a snowy area while aiming the gun at the person and struggling to pull the trigger. You can check it out at the bottom of this post.
Even though the trailer was called the Release Date Trailer, it only gives us the release month of June and no specific date. We’ll probably be getting the exact release date closer to the release month, with some point in May being likely.
It has been a big week for Final Fantasy XV so far, as yesterday marked the release of updates 1.06 and 1.07. The 1.06 update brought some big changes to the game, with the most notable one altering the game’s divisive chapter 13. The developers took fan feedback to try and make the chapter more enjoyable, altering the mechanics and even adding a new section that puts you in control of Gladiolus. You can learn more about that by clicking right here.
Final Fantasy XV is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Following the Episode Gladiolus and Episode Prompto DLCs will be the release of the final story DLC in Episode Ignis, with a multiplayer DLC coming at some point after that. Each story DLC will cost $4.99 individually, but can also be acquired as part of the game’s season pass.
