LG definitely took its time this year as we are already in March and they still didn’t announce the LG G7 or the LG G7 Plus. According to the latest rumors, we might get to see both models launch this spring. According to some, LG could unveil its flagship devices as soon as the end of April, however, others suggest that an early May launch date is expectable. Either way, both the LG G7 and the LG G7 Plus promise to be powerful devices. unfortunately, they will be more expensive than last year’s LG G6 too. Then again, the upcoming models will come with the latest flagship chipset and they will have a new design too, so the higher price is understandable.
The LG G7 will probably have a design that will remind us of last year’s iPhone X. The camera notch seems to be this year’s models’ characteristic feature and the LG G7 won’t be an exception from the rule either. The G7 will reportedly feature an OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. The handset should hide a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset under its hood and will include 6GB of RAM. As for the internal storage, customers will be able to choose between 64GB or 128GB variants. The LG G7 will supposedly feature a microSD card slot too, so users won’t have to worry about not having enough storage on their handsets.
Other features of the LG G7 will reportedly include 16MP dual rear cameras with AI function, an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls, and a 3,000mAh battery that will support fast charging. Wireless charging is also in the cards. The upcoming handsets will offer Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and they will run Android Oreo out of the box. The Plus model will most likely be quite similar to the base model, offering more memory and storage for a change. Naturally, it will also cost more. According to the latest reports, the LG G7 could cost somewhere around €700 while the Plus model will cost €760.
Given the fact that the G7 and G7 Plus launch later than we would have normally expected them to, it’s safe to assume that this year we will have to wait a little longer for the V40 too. A G7S could also launch sometime in the fall, possibly even at the beginning of winter. We will certainly find out more about the upcoming models in the next few weeks.
