Xiaomi is going to launch another ginormous handset this year, in the form of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3. While the launch date is not fixed yet, details regarding the smartphone, including images, have surfaced recently on the web. If we are to believe our eyes, the Xiaomi mi Max 3 will have even thinner bezels than its predecessor had. It will also have a larger display, however, the overall size of the device might be similar to the one of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2. Another change comes in the form of the dual rear cameras. The previous model only sported a single camera on the back.
The display of the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will get larger, with a 6.99-inch diagonal, and it will keep the 1080p resolution. However, this time around it will be a 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution, as the new device will adopt the 18:9 aspect ratio. This means that it will be quite tall and rather narrow. The fingerprint sensor remains on the back. The handset also gets a boost in power. The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will reportedly sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 chipset. The previous model came with a Snapdragon 625 SoC.
Surprisingly, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will actually downgrade when it comes to memory. Rumor has it that there will be a variant that will include 3GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Last year’s Mi Max 2 offered the same amount of storage and 4GB of RAM. Of course, there will also be a more powerful variant, including 4GB of memory and 128GB internal storage. The smartphone will also support additional storage thanks to its microSD card slot. Thankfully, the huge battery remains. As a matter of fact, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will sport an even larger energy pack. While the Mi Max 2 came with a 5,300mAh battery, the Mi Max 3 will sport a 5,500mAh one.
Xiaomi might also offer some new color options. Leaked images depict a black device and two different shades of black. The gold variant seems to have vanished. However, these are not official images, so we might actually get the same gold and black options in the end. Xiaomi will reportedly release the handset sometime in June. We will surely find out more about it until then. As for the pricing, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 could come with a price tag in the vicinity of $265.
