Xiaomi might have chosen not to unveil the Xiaomi Mi 6 at MWC as it did in the case of the Mi 5, however, it seems that the Xiaomi Mi 7 will be unveiled at the Congress once again. The Chinese company is one of the exhibitors that will participate at MWC. This is what makes people believe that the Xiaomi Mi 7 will first be shown off to the public during the Congress. Xiaomi announced the Mi 6 in April last year, so the Mi 7 will actually come a bit early. On the other hand, the Mi 5 was announced in February 2016 and released in April, so we couldn’t say that the announcement would come unexpectedly.
The Xiaomi Mi 7 will reportedly be a true flagship smartphone. It will come with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset on board. This SoC will probably be present in all the flagship smartphones to launch this year. It’s safe to assume that it will offer at least the same amount of memory and storage as its predecessor did. This means that the most powerful variant of the device will include 6GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The handset will also have a new design as it will have a 6-inch, 18:9 display.
Xiaomi’s flagship Mi 7 could also come with some new features. These might include wireless charging and facial recognition among others. The Xiaomi Mi 7 should normally come with a rather large battery, being able to ensure a more than decent battery life. It’s highly likely that the smartphone will run Android Oreo-based MIUI 9 out of the box. The device will probably sport the same dual rear camera setup as last year’s model.
The Xiaomi Mi 6 was quite a nice smartphone. The Mi 7 promises to be even greater, with a lot more interesting features to offer. Hopefully, we will find out more about the handset at the MWC next month. There still are a few weeks to go until then. In case the rumors are accurate and Xiaomi will announce the Xiaomi Mi 7 at the Congress, leaks will most likely start surfacing in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned and find out everything there is to know about the handset ahead of its official unveiling.
