The majority of flagship smartphones now run Android Nougat. Thankfully, they are also on the list to get the Android Oreo upgrade. Of course, depending on the manufacturer and in many cases on the carrier, some models will get the upgrade sooner than others. The good thing is that eventually, almost all flagship smartphones will receive the desired software version. Motorola’s handsets are no exception from the rule. The Motorola Moto Z2 Force and the Moto Z2 Play are, naturally, the first ones in line. Both handsets will receive the upgrade as soon as Motorola finishes testing it.
Motorola doesn’t change too much in the software before rolling it out to its models, so the Android Oreo upgrade should reach these handsets before the end of the year. The company already confirmed that both the Motorola Moto Z2 Force and the Moto Z2 Play will receive the new version of the operating system. According to reports, the Moto Z2 Play could get the upgrade as soon as this fall. Normally, the Motorola Moto Z2 Force should be the first one to get it. This means that if the Moto Z2 Play gets it in the fall, the Moto Z2 Force will also receive it in the same timeframe.
The Motorola Z2 Force is a great smartphone even running Android Nougat. Of course, it will become an even more amazing handset once it gets the Android Oreo upgrade. The latest version of Google’s operating system might not bring any groundbreaking changes, however, it is an improvement over the previous version. It offers some new features and it improves some that were already present in the Android Nougat software. Even if they don’t necessarily like or need the new features, many Android fans just prefer to run the latest version available. After all, what is the use in having a flagship device if it doesn’t run the latest and best versions of software?
If you own a Motorola Moto Z2 Force or a Moto Z2 Play, you should check the available software updates on your phone. You never know when the sweet Oreo will make an appearance. If you get the upgrade, let us know whether you like Oreo more than you liked Nougat.
