VR games are quite entertaining by default. An indie developer got things even more interesting and engaging with Sonic the hedgehog VR. Yes, it is the character we all love, only in VR mode. Nimso Ny turned the first level of Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone Act 1 into the perfect routine for exercise. This is due to the fact that the VR locomotion system uses head tracking. Thus, in order to move forward in Sonic the Hedgehog VR, players actually need to run. They also need to jump whenever it is necessary and they have to crouch in order to trigger the spin maneuver.
Players will feel even more like they actually are the famous hedgehog in Sonic the Hedgehog VR. If they move, the hedgehog moves, if they stop, the character stops too. The only thing that would make this game feel even more real would be for players to actually take damage whenever they hit a trap or they collide with an enemy on the track. Speaking of the track, Nimso Ny managed to recreate the setting perfectly. The VR world includes all the original elements from the 2D game. Players will collect golden rings, they will collide with the same enemies they did back in the days, they will encounter branching paths, will need to go through spike traps, and they will also find the memorable corkscrews there.
The original game was already quite a thrill to play. With Sonic the Hedgehog VR players will actually feel like they have gone through the level, as they will definitely get tired while they do it. Those who want to try the game out and have a VR headset can do it for free. The developer made the VR game available, waiting for players to download it. Even those who don’t really like the game can benefit from it. It is, after all, one of the greatest ways to work out and have fun at the same time.
