These past few weeks we have seen a lot of great smartphone launch. Even though the majority of us were waiting for the flagship devices to be unveiled, and they were, it doesn’t mean that nothing new will come our way anymore. Gionee will launch its next handset, the Gionee M7 on September 25. The event will take place in Beijing, where the company will unveil its brand new handset with a full display design. Or at least, that is what the teasers suggest. At first glance, the Gionee M7 will sport a screen similar to the Samsung flagships’ Infinity Display. The company will also launch another smartphone, the Gionee M7 Power in Thailand only three days later.
The Gionee M7 will reportedly come with a 6-inch Full HD+ display. Under the hood, there will be a MediaTek Helio P30 SoC and an ARM Mali-G71 GPU. The handset will include 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Camera- wise the new smartphone will offer a 16MP primary sensor with 4K video recording capabilities and an 8MP front- facing camera for selfies. The latter will only support up to 2K resolution video recording. There is no information regarding the size of the battery yet. The previous model came with a 5,000mAh battery, so the upcoming one should offer a similar one.
The Gionee M7 will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. It probably won’t get the Oreo update anytime soon so those who really want to have this version of the software should probably wait for another model that offers it to come along. All in all, the Gionee M7 seems to be a modern device with more than decent specs. The pricing and availability of the smartphone are still a mystery. The previous model sells for around $460, so the new model will probably be a little more expensive. Of course, it’s also possible that it will have a lower price tag. However, this seems to be unlikely given the new modern look and extra memory. There are only ten days to go until the launch when we will probably find out more about these matters.
