Drinkbox Studios’ Severed has made its way to several different platforms since launching on the PlayStation Vita last year, but today it launches on a new platform with no prior announcement. It has been revealed that the game is now available to purchase on Nintendo Switch, and a launch trailer has been revealed to commemorate the launch that you can see at the bottom of this post.
It doesn’t seem like there are any unique features in the Switch version of the game, as you utilize the touch screen in order battle enemies just as you did in the other versions. That’s perfectly fine, as the game is already a delight and those of you who own a Switch should definitely consider picking the game up. The following is a brief synopsis:
“Take control of a one-armed warrior named Sasha, wielding a living sword on her journey through a nightmare world in search of her family. Swipe-based touch controls will let you solve puzzles, find secrets, and do battle with a host of disturbing monsters. As the journey goes on, you’ll unlock new abilities, ascend an RPG-style upgrade tree, and tease apart the mysteries of the dark fantasy universe Sasha finds herself in.”
You can purchase Severed on Switch for $14.99. The game received very positive reviews when it launched last year on PS Vita, with many loving its mixture of metroidvania dungeon-crawling and it’s swipe-based combat. We’ll have to wait and see if the Switch port holds up, but the odds of that are good considering that the over ports did not have any major complaints.
