A new patch is live for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it definitely packs variety in terms of the things it accomplishes. The biggest one applies to those who are playing the game on Switch, as it will now allow you to receive in-game items if you read the newly-created Zelda channel on the Switch’s news page.
The channel itself is called Tips from the Wild, and launching the game through it will get you some free items. They haven’t detailed what kind of items players can expect to get from it, but they’ll likely be regular items that are nevertheless always good to have more of. The channel will open up tomorrow, so you’ll have to wait a little longer for that.
The rest of the patch mostly deals with bug fixes, which you can read about through the complete patch notes below:
- We have fixed the issue in Pack 1: The Master Trials of the Expansion Pass, in which defeating certain enemies for Kilton was not counted toward completion when playing in Master Mode.
- In-game items can now be obtained from launching the software from certain articles distributed through a new News channel (“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Tips from the Wild”) which can be accessed through News on the Home menu.
- This channel is expected to open on 8/9/2017.
- Depending on your game progress and location, certain items may not be obtainable.
- Various fixes to improve gameplay.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of with Wild is available for Switch and Wii U.
