The Gears of War series was one of the showcase titles for the Xbox 360 when it began nearly 10 years ago, bringing game-changing gameplay and jaw-dropping graphics to the gaming world. While we still don’t have a whole lot of information on Gears of War 4, we have learned that the game will feature equally jaw-dropping graphics when it does launch. The game’s awesome graphics were first shown off at E3 last year, which developer The Coalition’s Rod Fergusson says will be be one of the best-looking games the system has.
Here’s what Fergusson tole Official Xbox Magazine: “Like how the original Gears of War was a visual showcase for the Xbox 360, Gears of War 4 will be a graphical showcase for the Xbox One. He goes on to discuss 60fps multiplayer in the new game, though he didn’t 100% confirm that it would be included in the final game. Delivering [with Ultimate Edition] the first 60fps multiplayer experience in franchise history really taught us a lot about what it means to have a 60fps culture on the team and we’re leveraging that experience for Gears of War 4.”
Gears of War 4 doesn’t have an official release date yet, though it will be getting a multiplayer beta sometime this Spring. While many of the same weapons and enemies will be featured in the game, the story will focus on two new characters named JD and Kait. A lot more information is expected to be released at E3 2016, so be sure to check back for when that information is revealed. The latest release for the series was last year’s Gears Of War: Ultimate Edition, which was a remaster of the first game in the series with 1080/60fps visuals.
