Bungie studio President Harold Ryan has stepped down from his position, with Pete Parsons ready to take the role of chief executive officer, the company revealed.
Bungie posted on their website, that the board of directors have appointed Pete Parsons in the role at the company. Parsons has already been a member a key figure, as the company’s chief operating officer since 2002. “As CEO, Parsons will be tasked with leading the talented Bungie team as they continue to develop great Destiny experiences,” the company said.
“I want to personally thank Harold for his friendship, passion, hard work, and dedication in helping make Bungie the great company it is today.” Parsons stated. “As a team, we celebrated many victories and weathered many storms.
“To the players of Destiny, I want you to know that my number one priority, and Bungie’s, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together. I believe that Destiny is a one-of-a-kind experience. I also believe you have yet to see our studio’s best work. My new role here at the studio will be entirely focused on fulfilling that promise.”
Harold Ryan’s first job in gaming was as a QA tester, he then became test manager for the first Halo game. He then became studio manager at Bungie in 2006, and then onto the president of Bungie from 2008.
There had been rumours that Destiny 2 would be out later this year, but we have recently heard from reports that the sequel isn’t happening this September. The plans for Destiny have certainly changed over the years after a rocky start, but they have kept updates consistent.
