Ubisoft’s upcoming open world role-playing shooter The Division is slated for release early next year, but some lucky Xbox One owners are able to get a taste of the game long before that by way of an Alpha test that is now live. Anyone who has the client for the alpha can log in immediately and start playing, and you can check out the game’s official website for more details on getting in. Codes are still going out so if you haven’t gotten yours yet don’t worry, as it will more than likely be arriving shortly.
While the codes to get into the beta are being sent out randomly to all Xbox One players, Ubisoft is giving priority focus to those out there who have the game pre-ordered. The file size for the client is pretty big at 23GB, so if you’ve gotten a code make sure you have the space for it and get downloading soon. The alpha test for The Division gives all players access to PvE and PvP modes and will run from December 9 at 10 AM CET | 4 AM EST | 1 AM PST and will end December 12 at 9AM | 3 AM EST | 12 AM PST CET.
A beta for The Division was originally planned to launch this month for PlayStation 4 and PC as well as Xbox One, though the beta was delayed at the last minute due to more preparation time being needed. Instead, the beta for all platforms will now launch at some point early next year. As for the release of the full game, The Division will launch across all aforementioned platforms on March 8, 2016.
