Whether we care to admit it or not, Apple is, and probably always will be a trendsetter. This is clearly reflected by the fact that there already are smartphones that adopted the design of the iPhone X and clearly there are more coming our way with the same notch on the upper side of the screen. Two of the handsets to come with such a design are the Oppo R15 and R15 Plus. The manufacturing company recently teased its fans with a picture of the upcoming Oppo R15 and it clearly looks a lot like the iPhone X, having the same notch on top of the display and practically no bezels on the sides. Of course, Apple did not invent the notch, as we’ve seen it before on the Essential Phone, however, it seems that Apple’s reiteration got a lot more popular than Essential’s.
Apart from the iPhone X-like design, the Oppo R15 and R15 Plus probably won’t have any high-end features. The upcoming smartphones are quite a puzzle just yet, however, they will definitely not come with the most powerful chipset and premium features. Both the Oppo R15 and the R15 Plus will most likely hide a brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 700-series chipset with AI platform.
Just like any other smartphone from this segment, there is a high chance that the Oppo R15 and R15 Plus will focus on the selfie camera instead of the primary one. It’s safe to assume that the handset will include around 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Also, the smartphones might run Android Oreo out of the box. As for the pricing, it should be a reasonable one, considering the fact that the new devices will not offer premium specs and features. Given the fact that the company already started teasing its fans with information about the new devices, it’s safe to say that they will be launching sometime soon.
Of course, it could be another few weeks before we will officially welcome the new Oppo R15 and Oppo R15 Plus. They might be here in time for Easter. We will probably hear a lot about the new handsets in the upcoming weeks, as information usually starts surfacing weeks before the official launch of smartphones nowadays.
