When we thought that this year can’t possibly bring us anything new and newsworthy anymore, rumors regarding the OnePlus 5T started surfacing. Now, it’s certain that this handset will become reality. It will launch even sooner than we thought. The launch event for the new OnePlus model will take place in New York on November 16. That is only a few days away, and then we will be able to see the new handset in all its glory. The OnePlus 5 might not have been the handset we were all expecting it to be, but the OnePlus 5T might set things right once again.
The OnePlus 5 first of all disappointed with its dated looks. The new model will change that, as it seems it will finally have slimmer bezels and will adopt the 18:9 aspect ratio that makes smartphones easier to handle one-handed. While the size of the display will reportedly remain the same, the device altogether could get a little smaller, making it more comfortable to use. Naturally, the OnePlus 5T will be just as powerful as the OnePlus 5 is. It will sport the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset and it will include the same amount of memory. There is a possibility that the OnePlus 5T will only be coming in one storage option, so 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage would be granted. Unfortunately, the new model won’t be offering a microSD card slot either, as it seems.
The dual rear camera will also return, offering users the possibility to capture some great pictures and videos. The battery of the new model could be a little larger than the current model’s energy pack. According to rumors, the OnePlus 5T will feature a 3,500mAh battery, which is slightly better than the OnePlus 5’s 3,300mAh energy pack. However, wireless charging support still seems to be missing from the list of specs and features. We must admit, this is quite disappointing. Thankfully, the OnePlus 5T will have a reasonable price tag, which could make up for some of its shortcomings. According to OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, the new model will cost less than $600.
