Gionee launched two new handsets on Monday and one of them, the Gionee M7 goes on sale today in China. The Gionee M7 Power will start selling only on Saturday. Customers in China can purchase the M7 for CNY 2,799 ($423) starting today and they will get quite a nice smartphone for this sum. The design of the Gionee M7 is very modern, and it features the same 18:9 aspect ratio as the majority of flagship smartphones do this year. Of course, the modern design is not the only nice feature of the handset, its 6.01-inch FullView AMOLED display with 1080×2160 pixels resolution will also impress.
Under the hood, the Gionee M7 hides a MediaTek Helio P30 SoC. 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage allow this smartphone to get in line with many flagship handsets that offer the same specs. Also, users have the possibility to further expand the storage of the device by up to 256GB thanks to the microSD card slot of the M7. The M7 might not run the latest version of Android but it does come with Android 7.1.1 on board. The cameras of the device are also quite nice ones. On the back, users will find a 16MP+ 8MP dual camera setup. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie snapper. The 4,000mAh battery completes the picture allowing users to go through the day on a single charge. Fast charging support is also in the cards. Connectivity- wise the Gionee M7 offers GPS, GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, and WI-FI.
TheGionee M7 Power is, ironically, the less powerful out of the two handsets. On the other hand, it has the larger battery, and probably this is the feature that gives its name. The M7 Power has the same screen size, however, it only offers a 720×1440 pixels resolution. It sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset and it includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The primary camera’s sensor is only a 13MP one, while the front camera has the same 8MP sensor as the Gionee M7. The 5,000mAh battery is the main selling point of this handset. Also, the M7 Power is more affordable than the M7 that goes on sale today. Its price will be only CNY 1,999 which translates into around $300. Even though it isn’t as impressive as the M7, the M7 Power might actually be just as popular.
