Apple will supposedly launch the iPhone 8 in September. While there still is at least a month to go until the official unveiling of the handsets, we already know plenty about it. Leaks have shown us what the smartphone will look like and several specs of the handset also surfaced. The latest leaks shed some light on the iPhone 8’s cameras. To be more specific, they show us that the upcoming Apple flagship’s cameras will be capable of recording 4K video at an amazing 60 frames per second rate. If this proves to be true, this will be the first smartphone camera with such capabilities. The Samsung Galaxy S8 has one of the most powerful cameras available right now and it can only record 4K video at 30fps or 1080p video at 60fps.
The iPhone 8 will sport a dual rear camera setup, just like the iPhone 7 Plus did. While it would be a first, it wouldn’t actually be such a surprise if the iPhone 8’s camera could support 4K video recording at 60 frames per second. What truly amazes people is that the code which uncovered this capability also shows that the secondary camera of the handset will be able to do the same. Of course, there is a possibility that the information is incorrect. It’s hard to believe that Apple would release a smartphone with both cameras having this capability. The tech giant doesn’t usually spoil its fans with too many new features at the same time. We might see the upcoming iPhone sporting only one camera capable of shooting 4K video at 60 frames per second.
Apple really needs to bring its A game as many other flagship smartphones have incredibly good cameras nowadays. Throwing the 4K video at 60fps in the game might actually turn the iPhone 8 into the smartphone with the best camera on board. As I already stated, there still is a month to go until the official launch of the new Apple flagship, so this will probably not be the last we hear about its camera. We are eager to see what Apple will bring our way with the anniversary iPhone.
