Sea of Thieves marks Rare’s debut on PlayStation after nearly four decades in the gaming industry. PS5 users will need to create a Microsoft account to access the game. Progressive players who are eager to explore this new world can now connect their PlayStation and Microsoft accounts, marking a significant moment for gamers on both sides of this divide.
Noted on the Sea of Thieves PS Store page (courtesy of PlayStation LifeStyle) is the requirement for Microsoft account registration, acceptance of the Microsoft Services Agreement, and a privacy statement to play. Stephen Totilo, previously with Axios and now working independently, provided further details on the issue. After successfully combining efforts, players of Sea of Thieves on PS5 have the option to activate cross-platform friend requests, crew voice chat, proximity voice chat, and progression, which adds a beautiful touch to the experience.
