To mark Stardew Valley’s eighth anniversary, the game’s sole creator, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, has shared an approximate release window for the highly anticipated 1.6 update, which seems to be quite impressive.
Barone announced that the update will be released on PC on March 19th, with plans to bring it to consoles such as the PS4 “as soon as possible.” Additionally, amidst a global concert tour in progress, an upcoming cookbook, and the announcement of over 30 million copies sold of the popular farming game, Barone graciously expressed gratitude to the fans for their support.

Starting development in 2012 and launching in 2016, Stardew Valley was a project of passion for Barone. He dedicated long hours every day for over four years to bring the game to life and has continued to support it since then. Being the only designer, programmer, animator, artist, composer, and writer, he possesses an exceptional level of talent that surpasses what one person should have, making him possibly unbearable at social gatherings. We look forward to hearing updates on Haunted Chocolatier, which was paused for Barone to focus on Stardew Valley.
