The PC version of Fallout 4 has just received a new patch. This patch is on the Steam beta and improves various aspects of gameplay. The update (1.3) is only available to Steam users that have decided to use Steam beta. You can easily do so by heading to game properties in the Steam library and selecting the beta update in the drop-down.
The patch has introduced so nice changes that include, the addition of “status menus” for settlers in your settlements. This will help you to see what various settlers have been assigned to, amongst other things.
Improvements have also included “New ambient occlusion setting, HBAO+, which improves the overall lighting in the game. There are new weapon debris effects, that increase the amount of debris when there’s explosions and gun fire. You can also now rotate objects with triggers and pressing down on the thumbstick. Also, you can now remap your “ESDF” keys in Workshop mode, which I found useful.
The update also improves general stability and fixes various bugs. There have most importantly been a few quest-specific bug fixes, like “Confidence Man” mission, Bull and Gouger can now be killed.
We normally see new patches arrive first on PC and then a short while after, they become available on consoles. Remember, if considering trying the beta patch to save your game files before doing so. The full list of updates can be found below. We will update when we know more about the patch.
