Although it is unfortunate that developer Larian Studios has decided not to pursue a sequel or DLC for the highly acclaimed RPG Baldur’s Gate 3, fans can find solace in the fact that new evil endings are in development and will provide some consolation. With the addition of the previously announced mod support for PS5, the revolutionary roleplaying experience is now complete. We have praised it as “one of the greatest RPGs of our time.”
In a recent interview with IGN, Larian founder and director Swen Vincke shared some intriguing insights about the game. Vincke assured players that they could Expect a consistent experience moving forward without any major content overhauls. He hinted at the possibility of upcoming evil endings for those with a taste for sadistic satisfaction, promising that these endings would somehow surpass the current levels of wickedness. It seems that the developers are hard at work crafting these malevolent conclusions. I have witnessed a few of them. They’re truly malevolent, so players with a penchant for wickedness will find great satisfaction in that.”
As Larian moves on to new opportunities, Hasbro, the parent company of Wizard of the Coast, is eager to seize the moment and has hinted at the arrival of more D&D games in the future. The characters Larian has created for BG3 have always belonged to WOTC, and Vincke expresses his hope that they will be treated with the respect they deserve.
As for BG3 and its characters – they now belong to WOTC and I think they understand how important they are for the community. I trust that they’ll be treated with respect.
