Update: It looks like you won’t be able to play the Stellar Blade demo on the PS5 going forward, even if you were able to obtain it (it was inadvertently made available on the PS Store for about 25 minutes before being removed). It appears that Sony modified the license for the demo, so you will no longer be able to power up your PS5 if it is online.
Nevertheless, a good number of people persevered and finished the demo before it was locked away. The demo of Stellar Blade includes the first hour or so of the game, based on videos uploaded to YouTube and similar platforms. Your progress can be carried over to the full version of the game when it launches in late April.
We anticipate that the demo’s official debut date will be revealed soon.
Original Story: According to the blazingly fast Wario64, a very brief sample for the upcoming action game Stellar Blade appeared on the PS5 earlier today. Without any official notice, the demo appeared on the PS Store, and enthusiastic fans rapidly became aware of it. But in around twenty-five minutes, the demo was taken off from Sony’s online store. We know it exists, at least!
Someone has obviously let this one get away a little too soon. With Stellar Blade itself scheduled to release on April 26th, the launch is still at least a month and a half away. Demos usually appear a few weeks before a game is released, but there’s a good probability that an early version of Stellar Blade will appear much sooner.
The demo was downloaded before it was removed, and it has been confirmed that those who did so are free to play it. This is the sole issue. As a result, you should anticipate seeing gameplay videos everywhere.
