The third-party support for Nintendo Switch was a big question mark as the console first launched, but as time has passed we’ve been getting news of more and more ports that the company hasn’t had in ages. Now it looks like another big game will be making its way to the console, which is Blizzard’s Diablo 3.
While we heard rumors in the past that the game was getting a port to Switch, we now have more evidence that this is going to happen. This comes via a retailer listing for the game, which lists Diablo 3 on Switch. While a release date wasn’t provided, it’s likely that an announcement and full details on the game will be coming very soon.
It’s certainly interesting that the Switch would be getting Diablo 3, considering that it launched way back in 2012. However, this would be the first time that the game would be able to be taken on the road, with the Switch’s unique hardware allowing for home and portable gameplay. It remains to be seen what concessions would have to be made to get the game to run on the platform, along with how much of the post-launch content will come installed.
This certainly isn’t as good as having direct confirmation from Blizzard, but these are definitely credible sources and likely means that it’s a done deal. We’ll keep you posted on new information as soon as it becomes available.
