Big news for Persona fans is coming soon, as Atlus has revealed that a livestream will be broadcasting soon bringing more information on upcoming games. The upcoming games are Persona 5: Dancing Star Night and Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night, which are the upcoming spin-off dancing games based on the respective titles.
The broadcast will take place on December 24th at 20:00 JST, and is officially dubbed the “Super Secret Information Reveal! Broadcast Special.” It’s likely that we’ll be getting more gameplay footage for each of the games, and potentially more concrete release date information. The games are currently slated for a Spring 2018 release in Japan, though releases in other regions have not yet been confirmed.
While these may seem like niche titles that wouldn’t make it outside of Japan, that likely won’t be the case at all here. Persona 4 received a dancing spin-off in 2015 called Dancing All Night, which was released worldwide and received generally favorable reviews. Considering that Persona 5 has been the most popular installment in the series yet, it’s a given that its spin-offs and any other series-related spin-offs will get plenty of localisations.
Persona 5 launched exclusively for PlayStation 4 earlier this year, receiving critical acclaim. It has gone on to become one of the highest-reviewed games of the year, and will likely end up on many game of the year lists. The game was praised for its excellent cast, writing and gameplay, making smart improvements over the previous game to make it what many call the best in the series.
