EA is certainly taking a different approach to the campaign mode of Star Wars: Battlefront 2, as it’s going to take a while before players will even be able to finish it. The company recently released their content road map for the game, which reveals that the final piece of the game’s campaign actually won’t be available until December 13 – nearly a month after the game launches.
The game’s post-launch DLC will officially kick off on December 5, which will bring a new weekly faction challenge to the game. This will be followed by a weekend challenge on December 8 and a Blast Sunday on December 10. Week 2 of the DLC is where things will really heat up, as December 13 will be bringing new heroes, maps and more along with the finale of the game’s campaign. The content map takes us all the way to the end of the month on December 29, and you can check out the whole thing for yourself by clicking right here.
It will be very interesting to see what the fan response will be to the staggered release of the campaign, especially considering all of the bad buzz with the first game. The first Battlefront game from EA and DICE didn’t even feature a campaign, which was a move that many were unhappy with. It’s great that they fixed that with the sequel, but now going and cutting it up like this seems like it’s only going to annoy people again.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 17.
