Final Fantasy 15 director Hajime Tabata has been giving plenty of updates on the future of hit RPG, with both a PC version and mobile version being in development. While new versions of the game are in the works, we also have the release of Xbox One X on the horizon that the original game will benefit greatly from.
Tabata recently spoke with MCVUK about the Xbox One X, saying “Personally, I don’t feel that we have reached the limit [on consoles]. The Xbox One X is a highly attractive console for developers. I feel like I have always been waiting for a powerful Xbox like this.”
The Final Fantasy 15 will be utilizing checkerboard rendering when running on Xbox One X, which will help segment the load times. The game’s overall performance will also be greatly improved, with the framerate apparently going over the original’s 30fps. It remains to be seen how much higher it will be over 30fps, but it should be a nice perk for Xbox One X gamers, regardless.
The Xbox One X is set to become the most powerful console on the market, even easily exceeding the power of the PlayStation 4 Pro. However, it will also be the most expensive console on the market, with the console set to launch on November 7 for $499. There have been many concerns regarding whether or not the Xbox One X will be able to succeed in this competitive console market, with the high price tag being the biggest road block. This is made even worse by the fact that Xbox One really doesn’t have any major exclusives that would really drive sales for the system, so it will be very interesting to see how the launch of this console plays out.
Final Fantasy 15 is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a Pocket Edition coming later this year and the Windows 10 Edition coming early next year.
