Sonic Forces set to launch this November and will hopefully be the return to form for the 3D segment of the series that everyone is hoping for. While it will be a while until we know how that will turn out, today we’re learning that Sega will be releasing some free DLC for the game right at the game’s launch.
Sega has announced that the free DLC is called Episode Shadow, which obviously stars the character Shadow the Hedgehog that debuted in the Sonic Adventure games many years ago. This DLC will be available for everyone who purchases the game, including those who have pre-ordered the game. A gameplay video was also released showing some of the content off, which you can watch at the bottom of this post.
As for what fans can expect from this DLC, the company revealed that it will focus on the mysterious backstory between Shadow and Infinite. There will also be three additional Shadow stages for players to try out, as well as the ability to replay over 10 Modern Sonic stages as the character. As an added bonus, those who pre-order the Digital Bonus Edition will receive a Shadow costume for their hero character. The Digital Bonus Edition is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, whereas the PC equivalent will go live on September 21.
Sonic Forces will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on November 7. Be sure to check out the Episode Shadow gameplay video below.
