While the long-awaited Syberia 3 released earlier this year and didn’t do much to impress anyone, Microids has announced today that the original game will be coming to a new platform soon. The platform in question is the Nintendo Switch, and Syberia will release for it on October 20th. Nintendo fans will finally be able to jump into Kate Walker’s world and all of its adventure.
The Switch version of the game is developed by Koalabs, as they update that game to make it compatible with Nintendo’s new console. While specific details weren’t given regarding what has been improved with this new version of the game, we do know that the game will playable in both docked and undocked modes. Thus, fans of Syberia will have a brand new way to play the game, which is pretty cool.
The following is an overview of the game provided by Microids:
“Kate Walker, a young New York lawyer, is dispatched to deal with the sale of a former automaton factory hidden in the French Alps. She never thought that this task, as simple as it seemed, would change her life forever. She quickly embarked on a journey into the confines of Eastern Europe, accompanied by a very peculiar automaton named Oscar. Together they discover incredible places, filled with colorful characters, before meeting Hans Voralberg: the genius inventor, following the trails of the last mammoths found on the mythical island of Syberia, which also happens to be the last piece of the puzzle to conclude the sale and the mission of Kate.”
Fan of the Syberia series have already jumped back into Kate Walkers world with the release of Syberia 3 earlier this year, but it was unfortunately a major disappointment. Numerous technical issues hampered the experience significantly, and the story itself simply didn’t quite capture the magic contained within the fire game.
