It’s hard to believe that Pokemon Go has been out for a year now, with the game launching last July and creating the latest gaming phenomenon. The road was really bumpy at the beginning, but in the months that followed the game received regular updates to make it a much more enjoyable (and stable) experience. Now the developers are doing a little something to celebrate the anniversary.
Niantic has revealed that they will be releasing Pikachu into the wild, but this won’t be the regular Pikachu that you would probably expect. This Pikachu will be wearing the hat that was famously worn by Ash from the Pokemon animated series, which will be a great catch for longtime fans of the series. It remains to be seen how hard it will be to catch him, so make sure you’re fully stocked before you go hunting.
This special Pikachu is available now and will remain available until July 13th, so if you’re interested in getting him then be sure to get going soon.
Pokemon Go recently received a big update last month that brought a big redesign to gyms and added new multiplayer raid battles, adding some interesting new things for players to check out. The gym redesigns added a new spinnable photo disc to get some free items, gym badges and a new motivation system. The raid battles allow you and a teammate to take on powerful Pokemon in limited-time events, and winning the battle nets you special items and the chance to capture said Pokemon. You can get the full details on the update by clicking right here.
Pokemon Go is available for iOS and Android devices.
