The Not A Hero DLC For Resident Evil 7 has you taking control of Chris Redfield as he hunts down Lucas Baker, who fans of the base game will know all too well. Lucas is one crazy character, and bringing him down takes more than just a little elbow grease. This guide will show you how to bring him down.
How To Beat Lucas
While you’ll have encounters with Lucas throughout the DLC, it won’t be until the very end when you actually battle him. Of course, you won’t be fighting the human form of him that you’re likely most familiar with, but instead a monstrous form that is much more deadly. He is very large and moves pretty quickly, and also has the ability to leap towards you and his swings have a pretty decent range.
First of all, you’ll want to become familiar with the room that you’ll be battling Lucas in. It is pretty big and is littered with ammo and healing items along the perimeter of it, so you should make your first order of business to pick up all the goodies. You’ll find tons of shotgun ammo, which is good seeing as it will be what you’ll be using for most of the battle. There is also a big section of electronics in the center of the room, which is an excellent way to keep behind cover.
Now on to the actual fight. As you face Lucas you will notice that his chest sometimes glows red, and this is the weak spot. Whenever you have a clean shot at this weak spot and are a safe distance from Lucas you’ll want to get off as many shots as you can. As the battle wages on and you do some damage to Lucas, he will eventually fall into a stunned state for a few seconds. His weak spot is completely vulnerable during this state, so unload with absolutely everything you have. Toss any grenades at him and fire any remaining RAMROD ammo from your pistol.
As you get to the end of the fight, Lucas will send out a shockwave that damages your oxygen tank. This means that you will need to bring him down before it runs out, as you will die if it does. The tactics don’t change for this portion of the battle, so just keep unloading on him as quickly as you can and he will eventually hit the floor for good. Chris will then officially finish him off in the ensuing cutscene, which is extremely badass.
That’s all you need to know to bring down Lucas in Resident Evil 7’s Not A Hero, so make sure you’re stocked up on ammo and take down the son of a gun. For those just getting started, be sure to check out our guides on how to start the DLC and how long it takes to beat it.
