Asus’s smartphones are usually good- looking, have nice spec sheets and are also rather affordable. The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom launched in the US back in January. Ever since then, customers in Europe eagerly awaited for the handset to land on the old continent too. Now, it seems that their waiting period is over. The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom, also known as Zenfone Zoom S in Asia, will become available starting July 7. The smartphone will first arrive in the Netherlands. The only color option available will be black and the smartphone will have a €469 starting price.
For this sum, customers will get a smartphone that focuses on photography, as its name suggests. The design of the device is a pleasant one, however, it isn’t its main selling point. The 5.5-inch AMOLED display with its 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution is also a nice feature, but it still isn’t the one that makes this smartphone what it is. Its dual camera consisting of two 12MP cameras – a wide 25mm f/1.7 one and another 59mm f/2.8 unit are the main feature of this particular handset. It also has a 13 MP selfie camera that will definitely shoot some great selfies.
As for the inside, the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom doesn’t let its users down in this category either. The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset which is quite a powerful chipset and also an energy- efficient mobile platform. The processor is paired with 4 GB of RAM, so the smartphone is definitely able to ensure a smooth user experience. Users can choose between 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. All versions also support a microSD card slot so users can add up to 256 GB of storage to the handset. The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom runs on Android Marshmallow out of the box.
Besides the camera setup, the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom has another surprising feature: its battery. The device comes with a 5,000mAh battery which is still rather unusual in a smartphone. If you pair this huge battery with the energy efficient chipset, the end result is quite impressive. It could only be better if the smartphone ran on Android Nougat, which has some additional energy saving features. Even running on Android Marshmallow, the handset is able to ensure a nice battery life. Users won’t need to charge their handsets every night when they get home. Other features of the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom include a rear- mounted fingerprint sensor, a USB Type-C reversible connector, fast charging support, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
As you can see, the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom has a lot to offer for its price. In case you are in Europe and were waiting for the handset, your waiting is over now. The Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom will become available in your area in less than three weeks. If you do purchase one, tell us all about you experience. Are you happy with this handset or not?
