Huawei just announced the successor of the Honor Band A1. The Honor Band A2 is a much better version of the original fitness tracker. Now, it has a display and it also features a heart rate sensor that will monitor users continuously. Even though the gadget will only be released in June, it is already available for pre-orders. The wearable is quite affordable with its $30 price tag. At first, the Honor Band A2 will only be available in China but it will most likely reach other markets soon too.
At first glimpse, the Honor Band A2 looks like its predecessor. It keeps the same thin design, but this time around, instead of looking like a bracelet, it looks more like a watch. This is thanks to the addition of the 0.96-inch OLED display to the gadget. There is also a change in the color options. Instead of the Band A1’s turquoise, pink, white and black straps, it will offer black, green, white, and red color options. All of these look quite well, so every customer should easily find one to their liking. Unfortunately, it seems that Huawei ditched the leather strap, so the Band A2 will only be available with a silicone one.
Another new feature of the Honor Band A2 is its heart rate sensor. This is embedded in the display and is able to track the user’s heart rate around the clock. Apart from the heart rate sensor, the Band A2 also features a sleep tracker, a pedometer, an exercise tracker, and a sedentary reminder. The Honor Band A2 is IP67 certified, so it is dust and water resistant, at least up to a point. Its 95mAh battery is larger than the 70mAh battery of its predecessor, but even so, it won’t be able to ensure te same battery life. This is due to the addition of the display to the wearable. According to the manufacturing company, the new battery should be able to provide 9 days worth of battery life. In standby mode, the battery can last for up to 18 days.
The Huawei honor band A2 is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. When connected via Bluetooth, the gadget allows access to calls, messages, and other notifications as well. Overall, the Honor Band A2 seems to be a capable fitness tracker for its price tag. It looks nice, so even those who aren’t exactly fans of exercising can wear it without any problems. As we already stated, the wearable is available for pre-orders in select online stores in China. The gadget will ship starting June 9. This is also the date when it will become available in other stores as well. As for its global release, we don’t have any information regarding this matter yet. However, if it will prove to be popular in China, it’s safe to assume that Huawei will launch it in other countries also. As soon as we have more information concerning the availability of the Honor Band A2, we will let you know.
