Overwatch is always getting balancing tweaks, and the latest one is currently being tested in the game’s PTR. Blizzard rolled out the new patch in the PTR recently, which brings some character nerfs and buffs as well as expands the custom game feature. However, the big changes here are the ones that come to the actual characters, which will likely please and aggravate some players.
One notable change comes to Reinhardt’s Earthshatter ability, with its effective height lowered from three meters to two meters. This also impacts the height threshold of objects that the ability can reach, reducing its overall use a little.
Solder: 76 is next up on the nerf list, with Blizzard deciding to decrease his weapon damage from 20 to 19. The developer claims this was done due to the fact that the character was being chosen by players too much, though it remains to be seen how much a 1 point reduction will affect that.
Now it’s time for some buffs, with Genji and Hanzo getting very similar ones. The buff has to do with the attack cooldown that took place right after Genji or Hanzo performed their wall climbing ability, as it has been completely removed. This means that both characters will be able to get right into the action after wall climbing, which should go a long way towards making them even more lethal. I can already hear all of the Hanzo haters moaning.
Joining the aforementioned tweaks are some bug fixes for the game, which apply to a variety of different facets of the game. Bugs like voice lines not playing during the play of the game clip have been fixed, as well as one that caused shields to display the wrong team color during the play of the game clip. There’s a lot more where all of this came from, and you can check out the complete patch notes by clicking right here.
