Curve Digital, one of the worlds leading publishers of Indy games for consoles will be bringing an exciting new title to the PS4 and Xbox One. Nate Schmold’s much loved Cosmochoria will be released early next year. The game is procedurally generated which makes for some interesting gameplay as well as some interesting plot twists.
Cosmochoria is a space exploration game that puts you as the player in charge of terraforming entire dead galaxies so as to support life whilst also fighting hordes of Aliens. You are also in charge of nurturing nature back to the dead planets, finding lost and forgotten artifacts whilst also discovering the secrets of the universe. All in a days work.
Cosmochoria blends hardcore gaming with simulation style gameplay so as to form a perfect blend for all gamers to dive in and a something for everyone feel that really makes this game thrive. The art style and charm of the game makes players feel right at home. Each galaxy is different and no galaxy feels or looks the same to players and I believe that this is an important fact so as players don’t get bored of the game too easily. Early on in the game, players will die frequently going up against hostile but cute Alien races that are steadfast in protecting their planets and bases. However once the player becomes used to the play style and makes use of the deep upgrade system, progression will seem a lot less punishing.
Fans of the game will be pleased to know that the universe in Cosmochoria is huge! Players will be pushing the outer reaches of the galaxy towards the end of the game with upgraded weapons and equipment as well as sick looking space ships.
“The fans of the game have been asking me for the console version for months and it feels great to finally let the naked spaceman out of the bag,” says developer Nate Schmold. “We have been listening to community feedback and have been tweaking the game here and there so you can be sure that the console versions will be the ultimate Cosmochoria experience.” Some of the features announced include:
Procedurally-generated galaxies so no one play through will ever be the same.
Hand drawn and crafted HD vector illustration style.
Thrilling interstellar alien and boss battles.
Fresh electronic soundtrack by Ilkae, Zebra and Mantrakid.
Single player, high score gameplay with vast cartoon space exploration.
Full achievement and trophy support for consoles.
Cosmochoria will be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in Q1 2016.
