The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess is set to make its return next month with the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, though there’s still some information that we don’t know about it. While we learned about the game’s amiibo support recently, we still hadn’t seen much in the ways of the new gamepad support. Thankfully, Nintendo has released a new trailer that gives us a lot more information about the upcoming remaster, which will be aiming to make the already fantastic game even better.
First up is the game’s Hero Mode, which was previously announced but we didn’t really get a whole lot of information on it. We now know that the mode will be mirrored much like the Wii version of the original game was to the GameCube version. On top of the mirrored visuals is the increased difficulty of the game, which results in enemies doing more damage to Link and taking more damage before they finally go down.
Next is the Ghost Lantern, though the trailer doesn’t give us a whole lot of information in regards to what this new item is all about. In the trailer using the Ghost Lantern reveals a ghost in Hyrule Field that you couldn’t see otherwise, so it looks like it will function similarly to the Lens of Truth. It definitely seems like it will be linked to a new quest, as well.
It then goes into the Wii U gamepad support, which will allow you to manage your entire inventory right from the gamepad. Considering the tons of items featured in Twilight Princess this will be a huge improvement to the game that will make it more accessible. You can also use the gamepad’s gyroscope to aim and shoot at enemies, which is actually a function that works really well in other games.
Lastly we get another brief look at the Cave of Shadows, which is a brand new dungeon for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD that is unlocked with the new Wolf Link amiibo. This new area has Link taking on swarms of new enemies, though all of the details on this new area still have not been revealed. I guess Nintendo is remaining quiet on it so we can all be surprised when we get our hands on it.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD launches exclusively for the Wii U on March 4. Check out the new What’s New trailer for the game below.
