Xiaomi seems to be all over the place these weeks. The company just announced its Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S smartphone and the Mi 7 is also coming soon. While the smartphones are the devices most people know Xiaomi for, these arențt the only gadgets the Chinese company manufactures. Xiaomi also makes a lot of other devices, including laptops. Until now, the company only released affordable ultrabooks. Now, it seems that Xiaomi is ready to take things even further as it launched its first gaming laptop. The Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop is a promising device, even though it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
The gaming laptop offers a 15.6-inch wide-gamut color screen and it has a rather chunky design. The majority of laptops nowadays, including gaming laptops are quite thin and light. This isn’t the case of the Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop. The device has a thick body and it weighs 2.7kg. That is definitely not an ultraportable gaming laptop. According to the Chinese company, this weight is caused by the laptop’s incredible cooling features. In fact, Xiaomi states that the Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop will be the coolest high-performance laptop on the market. The device offers a special feature called “turbo cooling” which should ensure a great user experience.
The Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop will reportedly be quite powerful, not only cool. The device will become available with 7th generation Intel Core i7 and i5 processors, and it will include 16GB or 8GB of RAM. As for the internal storage, the higher-end Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop will come with a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD on board. This, paired with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GPU, should be able to ensure quite a great gaming experience. The lower-end model will come with the i5 processor on board and it will include 8GB of RAM paired with a 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD, and NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti graphics.
Naturally, the Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop has a nice gaming keyboard that lights up with 16 million colors, and a number of ports. To be more exact, the Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop has two USB Type-C ports, four USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, and an audio jack. This way, users will be able to connect quite a great number of devices to their new gaming laptop.
According to reports, the Xiaomi Mi Gaming Laptop will become available for purchase starting April 13. The less impressive model, with the Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD will reportedly sell for RMB 5,999 (€770). naturally, the model that comes with the higher amount of memory, storage, and the more powerful graphics will cost more. Ths model will supposedly have an RMB 8,999 (€1150) price tag.
