The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will launch next week, on March 27. Usually, we should know everything there is to know about a handset a week before they launch, however, Xiaomi managed to keep its upcoming handset under wraps for quite a long time. The company released two new teasers that do shed some light on some features of the company’s next model. They definitely confirm that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will have a great camera that performs well under different conditions. Also, the new teasers hint towards a facial recognition software that won’t be fooled by hats, beards and such.
While we don’t have too many information regarding the handset, there are some assumptions we can easily make. The design will most likely be quite similar to the one of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. This means that the smartphone will have a 6-inch display with really thin bezels on three sides and a slightly thicker one on the bottom. This is probably where the front-facing camera will be. There will reportedly be a change on the back of the handset, where there will now be a dual rear camera setup with some serious AI features.
Under the hood, we expect the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S to hide a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The original Mi Mix 2 was available with up to 256GB internal storage and 8GB of memory. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will most likely offer the same combo too. Of course, there will also be a 64GB and a 128GB variant, probably paired with 6GB of RAM. The handset will feature Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, a USB Type- C reversible connector, a 3,400mAh battery, and, according to the latest rumors, it will support wireless charging. It’s not clear whether this model will become available in a full ceramic variant too or not. Our bet is that it will.
As it was already mentioned, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will launch next week. We expect other information regarding the handset to surface by then so stay tuned and find out everything there is to know about Xiaomi’s upcoming high-end phone ahead of its official launch.
