Huawei is reportedly going to launch its new handsets, the Huawei P20, Huawei P20 Lite and Huawei P20 Pro before the end of this month. The first rumors regarding the handsets surfaced weeks ago, and ever since then, they keep rolling out. The latest bit of information consists of an image that depicts the back of the handset. While we already got to see the upcoming device last week, the new photo is somewhat clearer and thus better. It doesn’t reveal anything new, however, it does confirm some of the rumors that circulated in the past few weeks.
On the back of the Huawei P20 Lite, a dual rear camera setup is visible. The sensors are set vertically, one above the other. Rumor has it that the camera setup consists of a 16MP sensor and a 2MP one. Also on the back, there is a fingerprint sensor, alongside the company’s name. The Huawei P20 Lite brings back the liquid-like finish that amazed a lot of Huawei fans when it first appeared. The smartphone in the image is blue, however, other color options will become available too. At first, we might only get a black and a blue variant but it’s safe to say that a red one will come along too at some point.
Under the hood, the Huawei P20 Lite is rumored to hide an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset. This will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage in order to ensure a nice user experience. The handset still doesn’t feature a USB Type-C port, instead, it seems it will come with a micro USB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer. As for the battery, it will most likely be a 3,000mAh one that will support fast charging. Basically, the Huawei P20 Lite will be a more than decent mid-range handset.
The Huawei P20 family, including the Huawei P20 Lite and Huawei P20 Pro, will probably launch on March 27. The Lite will be the least impressive but the most affordable of them all. Recent leaks suggest that the handset will cost less than €400, which is a decent price tag for what it has to offer, at least on paper. There are only a few days to go until the official launch of the device, so it’s safe to assume that we will soon find out even more about the smartphone and its siblings.
