Sony’s Xperia smartphones might not be to everyone’s liking with their pointy corners, however, they are quite popular. The manufacturer is expected to launch at least one new device at MWC 2018 later this month. While everyone expects the new handset to be the Xperia XZ Pro, we could actually see at least one other model launching at the same time. It will be the Sony Xperia XZ 2, and according to a retailer in Ireland, it will be coming soon. The information is unofficial and it was clearly given away by accident. Even so, it’s nice to know that another Sony handset, the Sony Xperia XZ2 is coming our way and we won’t have to wait too long before seeing it.
Sony recently announced three new mid-range handsets, the Xperia XA2, the Xperia XA2 Ultra, and the Xperia L2. The upcoming Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ Pro will be higher-end devices. Last year’s XZ1 was a high-end device and its successor will most likely be just as impressive. The new Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ Pro will probably be quite similar to each other. Naturally, the Pro will be larger and possibly a little more powerful, and it could offer some extra features.
While we don’t know too much about the Sony Xperia XZ2 or the XZ Pro, we can assume that they will both come with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 on board. Rumor has it that the Sony Xperia XZ2 will sport a 5.2-ch Full HD display while the XZ Pro will sport a larger, 5.7-inch display with 4K resolution. It’s even possible that the company will announce a smaller, Xperia XZ2 Compact device, with a 5-inch screen at the same event. The MWC is only a few weeks away. It’s highly likely that information regarding the new Sony handsets will surface ahead of their official unveiling. As soon as we find out more about the new handsets we will let you know as well.
