Nokia made a really good comeback last year. As it seems, the company will continue delivering some solid smartphones, the next in line is the Nokia 7 Plus. According to rumors, the company will launch the smartphone at MWC 2018 later this month. Previous reports stated that the new model already entered production, so the timeframe seems to be quite accurate. Just like in the case of other handset, details regarding the new Nokia 7 Plus started emerging ahead of its official unveiling. If they prove to be accurate, the Nokia 7 Plus will be the company’s first handset with the now popular 18:9 aspect ratio.
As its moniker suggests, the Nokia 7 Plus will be larger than the original Nokia 7. Instead of the first model’s 2-inch display, the upcoming device will sport a 6-inch screen, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Thankfully, Nokia decided to keep the aluminum casing of the smartphone, so the new model will be just as solid as the previous ones.Even more, the aluminum on this particular model is said to have a Ceramic texture and feel. This will not only make it look and feel more premium but it will also make it less slippery. Naturally, the handset’s larger display will keep the 1080p resolution. The cameras will change, as the new model will reportedly sport a dual camera setup, consisting of a 12MP and a 13MP sensor.
The Nokia 7 Plus also gets a boost when it comes to power. While the original Nokia 7 came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset under the hood, the new Nokia 7 Plus will sport a little more powerful Snapdragon 660 SoC. In terms of memory and storage, nothing seems to have changed. The new model will also include 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The microSD card slot remains too, allowing users to add up to 256GB of additional storage to their handsets. Just like the previous models, the Nokia 7 Plus will feature Bluetooth 5.0, fast battery charging, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The new Nokia handset will most likely be announced later this month. It’s not quite clear how soon it will become available for purchase. Unfortunately, we don’t have any information regarding the markets it will reach either. As for the pricing, it will probably be close to the one of the Nokia 7. One thing is sure, the new model will run Android Oreo out of the box. We are confident that we will get much more information about it ahead of its announcement. There are only a few weeks to go until MWC 2018. Then, we will find out every detail we need to know about the handset.
