The LG G7 might be just around the corner but this doesn’t mean that people have forgotten about the LG G6. The manufacturing company didn’t forget about it either and it just announced two new color options for the company’s 2017 flagship smartphone. Initially, the handset became available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, Terra Gold, and Mystic White. Later on, a Raspberry Rose variant hit the shelves. The new color variant will be the Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet. These color options will not only become available for the LG G6 but also for the LG Q6. The Korean company announced the new color options recently and they will first become available for purchase in South Korea. According to the manufacturer, they will also hit the shelves in key markets worldwide.
LG’s next flagship device, the LG G7 was expected to be announced at MWC 2018 in Barcelona at the end of February. According to the latest rumors, this no longer seems to be the case. Instead, the Korean company will announce the LG G6’s successor at a separate event sometime later. The delay is reportedly caused by a complete overhaul of the upcoming device. Even so, we could see the smartphone launch as early as March or April 2018. One thing seems to be sure: it will be a true flagship device. The LG G6 was also a solid handset, however, the G7 should be a lot more appealing than its predecessor was.
The LG G7 will reportedly have the same modern design as the LG G6 did, possibly with slimmer bezels. It will most likely keep the 18:9 aspect ratio. The LG G7 will definitely have an OLED screen. The upcoming flagship will sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset and 6GB of RAM. It will run Android Oreo out of the box and it will certainly sport a dual camera setup on the back. While we still refer to the upcoming LG flagship as the LG G7, there is a chance that the Korean company will actually ditch the G series handsets and go with a totally new moniker for the devices. At this point, there is no certain information regarding the new naming of the handset, so we will have to wait and see what it will be called.
The LG G6’s successor should launch in the upcoming months. It’s safe to assume that reports regarding the new device will start pouring in soon.
