It’s becoming harder and harder to innovate in the world of computer technology these days, but Razer has something in the pipeline that is certainly an innovation. Called Project Linda, the laptop allows you to dock your Razer phone into a slot where a trackpad would typically be to power the device.
This also allows the user to use the Razer phone as a trackpad for the laptop itself, giving you a decent sized trackpad that also will allow you to perform various tasks that you would on the phone on the bigger screen. One example is with gaming, where you’ll be able to play the game on the laptop screen and then access the menu on the phone screen. You can check out a video that shows this device in action at the bottom of this post.
Another perk of having the Razer phone on hand is that you’ll be getting the superior sound quality that the phone has to offer, seeing as its speakers point up. Thanks to the laptop itself, users will be able to enjoy vastly increased battery life thanks to the 53WH battery in the laptop. The smartphone attaches to the laptop via a Type-C USB port.
Having the Razer phone docked into the laptop also charges the phone thanks to a built in power bank, ensuring that you’re ready to take the phone on the road as soon as you’re done with your gaming session.
Unfortunately, Project Linda is still very much in the prototype phase, with no release date or price point in sight. Razer is likely still tinkering around with the concept to get it right, with plans to commence a commercial production perhaps being somewhere in the near future. Nevertheless, Project Linda is still an incredibly interesting concept that would be great to see come to fruition at some point.
