The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will probably be the first smartphones to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 on board. According to the latest rumors, the smaller model will surprisingly only include 4GB of RAM. The larger sibling, however, will top that and come with 6GB of memory included. There will be a difference between the models when it comes to internal storage too. The Samsung Galaxy S9 will only become available in two storage options. Customers will be able to choose between a 64GB version or a 128GB variant. Of course, the handset will also feature a microSD card slot, so users can further expand the storage of the handset.
The Samsung Galaxy S9+ will offer a little more in terms of storage too. The handset will launch in at least three storage variants, possibly even four. The base model will include 64GB of storage, just like in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S9. Beside this, there will also be a 128GB variant and a 256GB one. Recently, we heard about Samsung offering 512GB storage for smartphones well. There is a possibility that the Samsung Galaxy S9+ will become available with this amount of internal storage too. However, there is a high chance that this particular variant will only become available in select markets, not globally.
The South Korean tech giant could take the wraps off its new smartphone models at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month. Even so, the new handsets will become available only a little later, possibly in March. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ will keep the 18:9 aspect ratio and all-screen design the company introduced with the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Changes will come in the form of a new chipset, the Snapdragon 845, and possibly a dual rear camera setup on the back. Unfortunately, it seems that Samsung will not manage to integrate the fingerprint sensor into the screen just yet. We might see this feature in the Galaxy Note 9, later in the summer.
A few months back, rumor had it that we might also get a Samsung Galaxy S9 Mini. If we are to believe the recent rumors, this won’t be happening, at least not just yet. The South Korean company could launch a smaller Samsung Galaxy S9, but it won’t arrive at the same time as the base model, and the Galaxy S9+. It’s safe to assume that the first two models of the year will rise up to expectations. Unfortunately, it’s also safe to assume that they won’t be any more affordable than last year’s Galaxy S8 and S8+. The new models might be expensive but fans will definitely consider that they are worth every cent.
