HMD Global successfully relaunched the Nokia brand last year, with a series of new handsets, ranging from entry-level smartphones to flagship devices. The Nokia 6 was the company’s mid-range model. Now, a new version of the model is about to launch. The Nokia 6 2018 will look like the original model, however, it will be more powerful than the Nokia 6 that launched back in 2017. In fact, it will sport the same chipset as the higher-end Nokia 7, making it more appealing than last year’s model.
Surprisingly, the Nokia 6 2018 won’t adopt the 18:9 aspect ratio that has become so popular. Instead, it sticks with the same format the previous model had. The main camera remains in the same spot but it is now accompanied by the fingerprint sensor that was under the screen of the 2017 model. While this change could give way to a larger screen, it actually remains the same 5.5-inch display with full HD resolution. The major changes come in the power section, though. Instead of last year’s model’s Snapdragon 430 chipset, the Nokia 6 2018 sports a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC. Also, the 3GB memory variant seems to have vanished. The Nokia 2 2018 will become available in two storage variants, including 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, and both of them will offer 4GB of RAM.
The new model definitely brings along more power, but it also keeps some of the best features of the previous one. The Nokia 6 2018 has the same solid build and reliable hardware as the original version did. It’s not quite clear yet how much more expensive the new model will be. Hopefully, the pricing will remain reasonable for what the handset has to offer. The smartphone will become available in three color variants. Customers will be able to choose between White, Black, and Blue variants. The reiteration of the Nokia 6 will launch tomorrow. Then, we will find out more about the pricing and availability of the handset.
