Nokia made a great comeback this year, and it seems that the journey will continue. The Nokia 6 (2018) already surfaced on TENAA, which means that it will launch in the upcoming months. Yesterday, only a few details regarding the handset surfaced. Today, we have images of the upcoming smartphone too. While it keeps the signature Nokia look, with a solid build, the Nokia 6 (2018) also adopts some modern features, like the 18:9 aspect ratio of the screen. Of course, this change leads to other ones too, such as the new placement of the fingerprint sensor, on the back of the phone. This is only natural, as the all-screen design doesn’t leave enough space for the fingerprint sensor to be on the front.
One thing that won’t change is the number of cameras. The images that recently surfaced show the Nokia 6 (2018) sporting a single camera on the back and one on the front. The new model comes with an orange detail that goes around the camera and the flashlight, adding a splash of color. The TENAA listing doesn’t reveal what the body of the Nokia 6 (2018) will be made of. It’s safe to assume that HMD Global will keep the metallic body most users appreciate so much.
Just like the current version, the Nokia 6 (2018) will be a mid-range handset. It will probably come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC on board and will include 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. It’s highly likely that the handset will run Android Oreo out of the box. Rumor had it that the Nokia 6 (2018) would offer a dual rear camera setup, but that clearly isn’t the case, judging from the images listed on TENAA. Even so, HMD Global could have an ace up its sleeve and surprise its fans with some cool new features.
Given the fact that the Nokia 6 (2018) already surfaced on TENAA it’s only a matter of weeks before it becomes official. At that time, we will find out everything there is to know about the smartphone, including features, prices, and availability. Until then, we can only look out for leaks or take some educated guesses regarding the new model’s specs and features.
