Xiaomi released an Android One handset back in September. The smartphone, which is known as the Xiaomi Mi 5X in China is called the Xioami Mi A1 and has a lot to offer. Naturally, one of its most important features is that it runs stock Android, which is quite awesome for Android fans. Of course, this is not the only nice feature of the handset. It also has a simple yet appealing design, and it has a lot to offer specs-wise for its price. As if it weren’t quite affordable already with its original 14,999 ($232) price tag, the handset just got a little less expensive in India. The Xiaomi Mi A1 sells for INR 13,999 ($217) as of December 10.
For this price, customers will get a handset that looks a lot like an iPhone, at first glance. On the front, there are three capacitive buttons under the 5.5-inch FullHD display. On the back, there is a fingerprint sensor and a horizontal dual rear camera setup that really reminds us of the iPhone 7 Plus’s setup. Also on the back, there is a Xiaomi logo and an Android One logo as well. Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mi A1 carries an energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset. The handset includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It also features a microSD card slot which allows users to add up to 128GB storage to their handset. The smartphone runs Android Nougat out of the box, however, users can upgrade to Android Oreo.
The dual camera setup we already mentioned consists of two 12MP sensors. On the front, there is a 5MP lens for selfies and video calls. The Xiaomi Mi A1 features a 3,080mAh battery that will charge via the USB Type-C port situated on the bottom of the handset. The Mi A1 supports fast-charging, which is quite great too. The smartphone is available in three color variants: Black, Gold, and Rose Gold. Xiaomi did not mention that this is a special price, so it’s highly likely that this is a permanent price cut. Thanks to its great features, the Xiaomi Mi A1 could be the perfect Christmas gift for a loved one.
