Meizu might not be as popular as Apple or Samsung but it has been around for nearly 15 years now and it’s going to mark this by releasing a full-screen smartphone next year. While there still are a few months to go until the launch of the Meizu 15 Plus, the first images of the handset already surfaced. They depict the packaging of the device, even so, the image of the smartphone is quite clear, revealing a handset with a full-screen design. Besides the design of the device, the image also reveals the price of the handset.
The image that recently surfaced on the internet shows a handset that reminds us of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 with really slim bezels on the top and the sides and slightly thicker one on the bottom. Here, users will find the fingerprint scanner and the front camera. It’s rather unusual that Meizu did not move the fingerprint sensor to the back of the device, as other manufacturers did, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. After all, not all smartphones need to look the same way. On the back, there will be a vertical dual camera setup in the center of the back cover and a flashlight. Naturally, the company’s logo also appears here. A very discreet antenna line is also visible on the bottom of the back cover.
Unfortunately, there is no information regarding the specs and features of the Meizu 15 Plus yet. The fact that there are two prices displayed means that the smartphone will come in two storage variants. The more powerful model will seemingly cost ¥3499, which translates into around $530. The other variant, which will probably include less storage and memory will sell for ¥2999 (around $450), according to the image. For these prices to be reasonable, the Meizu 15 Plus should have quite a lot to offer. The handset will probably come with a higher-mid-range processor and it should include quite a high amount of memory and internal storage.
Given the fact that the image already surfaced, it’s safe to assume that it won’t be too long before Meizu will announce its anniversary device, the Meizu 15 Plus. It will probably launch sometime in the first quarter of 2018, marking the beginning of a new era for the company.
